Day 276 — Clarity Under Residual Conditions

"Clarity that remains is clarity that does not depend on the survival of collective vision for its force." — Julius Evola, Ride the Tiger

Clarity under residual conditions continues after every collective clarity of higher order has been dissolved. The residual man continues to see according to the permanent measure even though the age offers no confirming vision and no shared light. The clarity itself remains intact. Only the collective structures that once supported it have disappeared.

Young men who still seek clear sight often look for residual doctrines or residual schools that will supply the vision from outside. Most of those doctrines have already been reshaped by the horizontal forces that dominate the age. The residual path does not wait for external vision. It continues to see from the interior center that still holds the vertical measure.

This solitary clarity is the residual form of the older traditional sight that once ordered both the individual and the civilization. The man who keeps clarity present already performs the residual act. That act does not require collective confirmation to remain real.

Keep clarity under residual conditions. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which higher vision is publicly shared. The residual act is to keep the permanent measure effective in every concrete decision. That effectiveness is the continuity of the higher type under residual conditions.
