Day 293 — Form of the Differentiated Man

"The form of the differentiated man does not require the survival of the world that once recognized it. It continues as the interior structure of the man who still lives according to its law." — Julius Evola, Ride the Tiger

The form of the differentiated man is the residual structure that remains after every collective form of higher order has been dissolved. The residual man continues to embody that form even though the age offers no confirming environment for it. The form itself remains intact. Only the collective conditions that once made it public have disappeared.

Young men who still sense the possibility of a higher form often look for residual models or residual communities that will supply the structure from outside. Most of those models have already been reshaped by the horizontal forces that dominate the age. The residual path does not wait for external structure. It continues as the permanent form from the interior center that still holds the vertical measure.

This solitary form is the residual expression of the older traditional type. The man who continues to embody it already performs the residual act. That act does not require a collective environment to remain real.

Embody the form. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which the differentiated type is publicly supported. The residual act is to keep the permanent form effective in every concrete decision. That effectiveness is the continuity of the higher type under residual conditions.
