Day 301 — Standing as the Final Continuity

"Standing remains the final continuity when every collective form that once made standing possible has disappeared. It continues in the man who still holds the measure." — Julius Evola, Ride the Tiger

Standing as the final continuity is the residual capacity to remain upright after every collective form of higher order has been dissolved. The residual man continues to stand according to the permanent measure even though the age offers no confirming structure. The standing itself remains intact. Only the collective forms that once supported it have disappeared.

Young men who still seek a firm position often look for residual forms or residual hierarchies that will supply the standing from outside. Most of those hierarchies have already been reshaped by the horizontal forces that dominate the age. The residual path does not wait for external support. It continues as the permanent type from the interior center that still holds the vertical measure.

This solitary standing is the residual form of the older traditional posture that once ordered both the individual and the civilization. The man who remains standing already performs the residual act. That act does not require collective forms to remain real.

Stand. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which higher rank is publicly structured. The residual act is to keep the permanent measure effective in every concrete decision. That effectiveness is the continuity of the higher type under residual conditions.
