Standing beyond the age means continuing to occupy a vertical position after the age has abolished every vertical position it once recognized. The position remains real because it is rooted in the type, not in the temporary conditions of the cycle.
Young men who still sense the need to stand often look for residual platforms or residual groups that will make the standing easier. Most of those platforms have already been adjusted to the horizontal requirements of the age. The residual path does not wait for external ground. It continues to stand from the interior center that still perceives the higher position.
This solitary standing is the residual form of the older traditional posture that once ordered the higher castes. The man who keeps standing already performs the residual duty. That duty does not become less real because it is no longer collective.
Stand beyond the age. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which vertical position is publicly possible. The residual act is to keep the permanent stance present in a world that systematically levels every height. That presence is the continuity of the higher type.
