Young men who still feel the need for direction often search for residual movements or residual teachers that will orient them from outside. Most of those movements have already absorbed the horizontal logic of the age. The residual path does not wait for external guidance. It continues to take its bearings from the interior center that still perceives the permanent axis.
This solitary orientation is the residual form of the older traditional direction that once ordered both the individual and the higher functions of a civilization. The man who keeps that orientation present already performs the residual act. That act does not require a collective horizon to remain real.
Maintain residual orientation. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which higher direction is publicly available.
