Day 258 — The Residual Path Continued

"The path remains open for the man who still walks it according to the permanent measure when every collective road that once led in the same direction has been closed." — Julius Evola, Ride the Tiger

The residual path continues after every collective path that once led upward has been closed. The residual man continues to walk according to the permanent orientation even though the age offers no shared road and no confirming landmarks. The path itself remains intact. Only the collective structures that once made it visible have disappeared.

Young men who still sense the higher path often look for residual groups or residual methods that will make the way less solitary. Most of those groups have already absorbed the horizontal logic of the age. The residual path does not wait for external support. It continues from the interior center that still perceives the permanent direction.

This solitary walking is the residual form of the older traditional path that once ordered both the individual and the higher functions of a civilization. The man who keeps walking it already performs the residual act. That act does not require a collective horizon to remain real.

Continue the residual path. Do not wait for the age to restore conditions in which higher ways are publicly open. The residual act is to keep the permanent orientation effective in a world that systematically closes every vertical road. That effectiveness is the continuity of the higher type.
