Remaining after the cycle is the capacity to outlast the late phase as a type, without needing the phase to end on a timetable of one's own. The Dark Age is not a mood. It is a condition of the world. Men who treat it as a season they can hurry become restless and then become cheap. The differentiated man accepts the length of the phase and keeps his form inside it.
Young men who think in cycles often fall into waiting. They imagine that remaining means standing still until history changes temperature. Remaining is active. It is the continuous production of a type under hostile conditions. The seed is not an idea stored for later. The seed is a living man who can still obey a higher measure now.
This solitary remaining is the residual form of the older traditional knowledge of the end of the age. Traditional teaching did not promise that every man would see the dawn. It demanded that the higher type continue until the dawn, whether he sees it or not. The man who accepts that demand already performs the residual act.
Remain after the cycle. Do not bargain with the phase and do not require a visible turning as the price of your stance. The residual act is to keep the seed real in body, conduct, and interior law. That remaining is the last service the higher type can still render.
