Day 201 — Orientation Independent of the Age

"The man who still possesses an orientation independent of the residual age already stands outside the forces that dissolve every center." — Julius Evola, Ride the Tiger

Orientation under residual conditions must become independent of the age itself. The residual world supplies no stable center and no recognized hierarchy that could serve as a reference point. The man who still seeks his orientation from the residual world will only find the successive temporary centers that the age itself produces and then discards.

Independence of orientation does not mean isolation from every concrete reality. It means that the permanent measure remains the sole criterion by which the man judges those realities. He uses what the residual field provides. He never allows the residual field to rewrite the measure.

Young men are continuously invited to treat the latest collective mood, the latest technological horizon, or the latest political alignment as the final orientation. The residual path rejects every such invitation. Orientation that depends on the residual age is already dissolved orientation. Only the measure that stands independent of the age still belongs to the higher type.

Keep the orientation independent. Do not wait for the residual world to supply a center worthy of loyalty. The man who continues to orient himself by the permanent measure already occupies the residual position the cycle still leaves open.
